HANS JACOB TAUSCH JR

Jake Tausch has
50 years of experience
in radiation effects on electronics as well as integrated circuit analysis, design and testing.

He is the owner of  T 2 Research and co-founder of JD Instruments, which he currently manages through T 2 Research. Through T 2 Research, Mr Tausch provides radiation test services for TID, SEE, dose rate, Proton and Neutron radiation environments. His company JD Instruments manufactures and sells portable, automated test equipment for Integrated Circuits. Mr Tausch is the designer for all JD Instruments’ products, including custom integrated circuits used in the instruments. He has worked closely with several customers to identify radiation induced failure mechanisms and attendant solutions in FLASH memory and SDRAM products.

Prior to forming T 2 Research and JD Instruments, Mr Tausch worked for a number of companies in the areas of IC design and testing, as well as radiation testing. Between 1991 and 2002, he designed test equipment for ICs, designed and layed-out custom ICs for use in satellites for Mission Research Corporation. Between 1981 and 1991 he worked as president and chief engineer for Design Engineering Inc, where he built custom test systems for radiation testing and performed numerous radiation effects experiments. From 1977 to 1981 Mr Tausch worked for BDM, where he designed and built numerous custom test systems. Between 1974 and 1977, he worked in the IC Engineering group for Tektronix; supporting production test of high speed, analog ICs.From 1971 to 1974, Mr Tausch performed numerous radiation effects experiments for the Air Force Weapons Laboratory. Finally, Mr Tausch worked in the Survivable Low Frequency Communications SPO, performed on-site EMP testing of the TITAN II installation for Electronic Systems Division from 1969 to 1971.

Mr Tausch received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 1969 and his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1974.
